Health Care Workers Prepare to Hit Picket Line to Win First Union Contract

WAYNE, N.J., Nov. 6, 2026 — Members of Teamsters Local 125 at ImageCare in Sussex County have voted to authorize a strike as they continue fighting for their first union contract. The 45 technologists and technologist aides, who organized nearly two years ago, are demanding a fair agreement that includes better wages and affordable health care.

"For nearly two years, these essential health care workers have been fighting for their first union contract, only to be met with delays and insulting offers by their employer," said Paxton Ryan, President of Local 125. "If this greedy employer wants to continue to play games and bargain in bad faith, they will force Teamsters to the picket line. ImageCare Teamsters know their worth and aren't afraid to strike for it."

Teamsters at ImageCare provide critical health care services, including X-rays and MRIs, to patients throughout Sussex County. Their fight for a fair contract is also a fight for the resources they need to deliver quality patient care.

"On behalf of all my co-workers, we are finally standing up for ourselves after years of being underpaid and undervalued," said Alyssa Perry, an ImageCare worker and member of Local 125. "We are health care workers, but we can't even afford the health care plan offered through our employer. This is unacceptable. We are prepared to stand united and strike if necessary until we get the respect and fair treatment we deserve."

Teamsters Local 125 represents more than 4,200 workers across New Jersey. For more information, visit teamsters125.org.
